Links to some of the press we did after we got the freakin' axe from
the show. Go read 'em if you haven't already. Eh, and if you have, do
it again.
•
TARFlies Times. We had the most fun with this interview. We knew
we had to bring it if the people over at TWoP were going to be reading
it. So it was brought.
•
CBS.com. This was basically the first post-race web interview we
did and we weren't really sure what we could get away with. So naturally
we said "fuck it" and went for broke. When they ended up using almost
everything we said (except for one little pit stop story) we pretty
much took it as the green light to blaze up the interviews.
•
KELO -- Local News Station. This is a transcript (more or less)
of the TV interview we did for the local news station here. They kind
of fucked up who said what in the transcription...maybe we'll put the
actual clip on here sometime in the Fun
Stuff section.
•
FORT -- Fans of Reality TV. This was a fun little interview we did
with John from the FORT. It was the only web interview we did, that
we actually got to interact with someone. The rest of the .com interviews,
we had to fill out these long-ass questionnaires. John kept this interview
lively and had great follow-up questions.
•
TVRules.net. This is easily the most unique of the web interviews.
The questioner, TVRDan, asked some great questions that no one else
brought up and was able to angle for a variety of details. It was just
a really complete interview. You kick ass, Dan.
•
Media Fiends. Jacalynn at Media Fiends got into the game a little
late and was the last interview we filled out. By that time, we had
tried to give different/creative answers to all these same web interview
questions, as well as having done stuff for other media outlets. Needless
to say we were pretty much running on fumes. So this wasn't exactly
a tape-measure shot to the left-field, upper-deck seats. Even so, it's
better than any of Weez/Geez's best efforts.
•
Reality News Online. Ahhh, little Phillip Kural. Phil's a student
at Temple University and aspires to be the Howard Stern of reality show
web interviewers. Really though, he's a journalist and wants to get the
dirt. Totally understandable. But he must have felt bad about some of
the stuff he wrote about certain teams, because he was doling out apologies
at TARCon. Phil, if you want to stir shit up as a columnist/interviewer,
you need to ditch the conscience. They're overrated anyway.
How to formulate great answers to post-show interview
questions:
• Insert 12-19 cuss words when you don't really have anything intelligent to say.
• When asked about something you'd rather not discuss, change the subject by running smack on the other teams you didn't like.
• Just say, "It was the fucking editing, man.".
• Think long and hard about the question, arrive at a response, then give the exact opposite answer.
• Blame your partner for your team's failure.
