Amazing Race-type Stuff.
Message boards, news sites, if it talks about the Amazing Race...it's
on this list. If we left you off...sorry 'bout that.
•
The Amazing Race Forum at Survivor Sucks. One crazy little message
board. It can get pretty raunch, but there are some damn funny posts
and good spoiler info.
•
The Amazing Race Forum at Television Without Pity. In our opinion,
the best Amazing Race board out there. The posters are intelligent and
the moderation is good, so you don't have a bunch of extraneous shit
polluting the board. They are hard core about their discussion of TV,
so pay attention to the rules, or you'll be gone quick. And if you haven't
already, get off your fucking ass and go read Miss
Alli's TAR recaps.
• TVRules.net
Not a whole helluva lot of posters, but hey it's another TAR message
board! Go hang out with these people who aren't aware of the real boards.
•
FORT -- Fans of Reality TV. A board devoted solely to a crappy genre
of TV, the reality-based shows. And since the Amazing Race is a crappy
reality-type show, the people over at FORT feel they need to discuss
it. Dave, Steve, and Weez/Geez post over there, so go track them down
and ask them some annoying questions.
•
Metropolis Forums. Don't know much about this message board except that Reichen's mom owns it or something. What? Well, it seems that way.
•
Amazing Race Forum at Reality TV World. Not a very active board,
but when you need your fix and you've already gone through all the posts
on your usual boards, go here.
• Reality
TV Talk. Not really sure why this made the cut.
•
Amazing Race 4 on CBS.com. The official Amazing Race page. Go re-live
your favorite and not-so-favorite moments of the season. Give Amanda
and Chris 1's on the popularity polls and watch the bonus video clips
from each episode.
• Aaron
and Arianne present -- "We'll Be The Judge Of That". Oh snap. These
two just don't give a shit. They're gonna tell it like it is and couldn't
care less what anyone thinks about it. TAR5ers, you're going to need
a sense of humor if you read these reviews.
• The TARFlies
Times. A spin-off of sorts from the TWoP board. Headed up by miri,
some of the posters from Television Without Pity have come together
and given birth to a site devoted to all things Amazing Race. They've
got interviews, pictures, stories, reviews, and much more. It's good
stuff, give it a shot.
•
Amazing Race 4 Show Guide at TVGuide.com. TV Guide has given lots
of support to the Race in the way of coverage and positive reviews.
They usually have something new to say about the race every couple of
weeks, so keep checking the show guide to see the latest commentary.
•
Fucking Masks, Yo. You can't talk about the Amazing Race 4 and not
bring up the masks. Well, actually you probably can and we're pretty sure
99% of you do. But for that 1% of you, who are obsessed with that fucking
masquerade ball, here's something to satisfy your fix. Go check it out ya damn freaks.
•
Amazing Race 4 at Reality Reel. Another site devoted to reality
TV that has an Amazing Race section. Although this site is a bit different
in that the articles are written and submitted by just about anyone
who wants to submit news. So the quality from story to story varies
greatly. Also, aside from reviews by Aaron & Arianne and Andrew (this
coming season), we're not real impressed with their other "celebrity" reviewers.
• Elites
TV. This site also has an Amazing Race section with news and interviews,
but it is the only one that can boast having the Guidos as regular
contributors. Joe and Bill wrote episode reviews for TAR4 as well as
an inside look at the premiere party in Vegas. Their reviewing style
is comprehensive and damn funny, so check them out for season 5. That
is, if they're still signed on over there.
• Survivor
Central. Judging by it's name, you'd think this was a site devoted
to Survivor. Well, it is mostly. But it also has plenty of "celebrity"
contributors. Aside from the large group of Survivors, you also have
several from the Mole, and Amanda and Chris. We will be reviewing something
over there once we get off their asses. You can go look at
the goofy little caricature of us and the link that leads nowhere
because we haven't written anything yet. But definitely look for our reviews when the TAR5 season begins
•
The Amazing Race Sucks. It doesn't suck. But for some reason they've
felt the need to name the site as such. Hey it's another source for
news, stop bitching.
• Reality Central.
The location on the web for the yet-to-go-live 24/7 reality TV themed
channel. Head over there and see what the latest is and daydream about
watching 9 straight hours of some European dating show.
• The Amazing
Race World. One of the better fan sites for the Amazing Race out
there. Wendell is tearing it up with his ability to find Amazing Race
news stories and post them on his page. Seriously, I bet there are at
least a couple articles posted on his site that you haven't read yet.
•
The Futon Critic. When you need to find out production dates, premiere
dates, ratings info, and other industry-type news, get your ass over
to the Futon Critic. There you'll realize that the nightmare you had
was just that, and CBS is not canceling the Race nor is it burning an effigy
(constructed from all the archived footage of the previous Races) of Jerry Bruckheimer.
• Zap 2 It.
More entertainment news. What? Well we thought maybe you could use some
more. Whatta ya mean it's too much? Well... yeah... but... Hey. We were
just trying to be helpful pal. Fucking sue us!
• Reality News
Online. Blech. How many damn sites do we need that cover reality
TV? This is getting fucking ridiculous. Anyway, here's another one.
Ummm... go check it out... or something.
• The Orwell Project.
Whoa. Just went to this site for the first time. Not bad. Not too sure
how the hell it made it into our bookmarks, but it was a pleasant surprise.
• The TV Clubhouse.
They really love their Big Brother over there and that's ok, we won't
hold it against them (mostly because their recaps of the live feeds
are pretty good). But they do have the occasional Amazing Race thread
open (mostly just during the season) and 4 people will post in it. But
hey, that Big Brother...
• Reality Blurred.
Billed as "the Reality TV Weblog" this site provides a multitude of
news articles dealing in all things reality.
• Reality
Stars. Serving as a base to promote its "Featured Stars" this site
offers up bios, news, and interviews from people who have, at one time
or another, appeared on a reality show. To say that a few of the "featured
stars" are obscure, is an understatement. Hell, looking at the roster,
Amanda and Chris would easily be considered "featured stars" to them. And that
alone, says a lot. Just go check it out.
How you and your teammate can get on the Amazing Race:
• Use nudity in your application video. Horny CAs love nudity.
• Make up some bullshit about your phobias. Pussies getting over their fears
equals great drama.
• When meeting with CBS execs, tell them all to "fuck off". This will show them you are hard-core. Moonves loves that shit.
• On your application talk up the fact that you're an alcoholic and will have a hard time without "hooch" during the race.
